Raw Honey

Lavender flowers and bees make the best raw honey! Nothing is added. The honey’s light colour, aroma and flavour are the result of nature’s impact on the quality of lavender, the health of the beehives, the nutrient value of the soil, and the adequacy of rain/sun. For some other amazing facts about bees and honey, please visit the Ontario BeeKeepers’ Association And please note, children under the age of one should not eat honey, raw or pasturized.

Lavender

We grow both crafting and culinary lavender. Crafting lavender comes from French Lavender (Lavandula x intermedia). It usually grows on a long stem, is a grey/lavender colour, and has a stronger scent which is due to the amount of camphor in it. This is what makes it great for bouquets, potpourri, sachets, soaps, perfumes, and for making lavender oil, insect repellent, and hydrosol for room and linen freshening. Culinary lavender is English Lavender (Angustaifolia) and is used in cooking and baking.
