Hi – we’re Garry and Cathy Parsons!

If you had asked us 10 years ago what we imagined of our retirement, it would not have been growing lavender and tending bees! But there were a few things we did want. We wanted a healthier lifestyle than what we experienced working in health care. We wanted to do something for the environment. We wanted to do something that would keep our minds sharp. We wanted to be physically fit but we didn’t want to go to the gym. And we wanted to keep interacting with people and somehow make a positive difference.

We acquired seven acres of woodlot and pasture which provided the perfect setting – privacy, ideal soil, a protected area for the bees, and a location that makes it accessible to the local community and to visitors.

Every year since 2015, we seek the inspiration that the farm provides – it’s exciting to keep learning and keep creating. And more was made possible with the talented help of family and friends.

For more information please continue to explore our website and Facebook page. To inquire about what the farm has to offer, contact us! We’d love to meet you!

“Lavender Hives is one of our favourite family destinations when visiting the Grand Bend area! Cathy and Garry have created a peaceful, beautiful and fragrant refuge that is both calming and revitalizing. Their honey and lavender products are thoughtfully crafted, unique and delicious. Don’t forget to walk the lavender labyrinth for inspiration!”
